Groups in Uttar Pradesh (INDIA) |

GC and GNS are running different projects in the various
districts of Uttar Pradesh, with an aim to provide
support to the local artisans and their upliftment.
Different projects currently

Khurja, with financial support
from the local government. Numbers
of Artisans families, involved are 40,
150 respectively in each district.

This project is run
by our group "Vikas Swayam
Sahayata Group" in Meerut
district, in the village Harra.
The group compriese of a Homogeneous
population of 70 women (average
poverty line) and 90 women (below
poverty line). Number of artisans
families involved are 220, with
an average daily income of Rs.
60/- per day. |

Organisation is
working a methodology to work with
Uttranchal Tea Board, Almora
Uttranchal to produce and sell tea in
the international and domestic
markets. In ordr to make this a
successful venture GC & GNS plans
to undertake a tea garden to produce
and market tea keeping in mind the
fair trade concept. |
